HX references on top in WC Wellington
5 February 2018
What a performances! Two horses that were sold by Stal Hendrix took the first and second place in the World Cup of CSI3* Wellington. Daniel Coyle claimed this victory riding his incredible fast Casall mare Cita, while Laura Kraut finished second aboard her speedy Holsteiner mount Confu.
The course challenged some of the best in the field of 40 competitors. Only five were able to qualify for the jump-off. Irish rider Daniel Coyle was the third rider in this jump-off and took his chance with Cita (s.Casall) successfully, winning over 72,600 Dollar. “I had seen the first rider and I thought that’s going to be hard to beat, never mind McLain and Laura coming behind me. I am very happy to have won today, Cita did an amazing job. Obviously we put a little pressure on the people behind me and it worked out my way”, said Coyle.
As the last rider in the jump-off, Laura Kraut and her superior HX reference Confu (s.Contact Me) knew what they had to do. “I didn’t see Daniel go because I was walking up to the arena, but I know how fast he is and how quick Cita is. I really felt that I could have done one less stride to the third jump. Confu turned so fast that I had to catch up to him, so I think that made us a bit slow. I am pleased to be sitting at the head table.”
