Pinacolada van Seldum, an athletic representative of the Balia damline
In the stallion performance test of the KWPN, the remarkable Pinacolada van Seldsum emerged as the highest-scoring three-year-old showjumping stallion last year. With a score of 9 for his quick reflexes and six times an 8.5, he reached a striking total of 86 points. He impresses with his eagerness to work, light-footed canter, use of the body and athletic scope. Additionally, he stands out with his rideability.
His talents are fully explained when we look at his origins. He bears a striking resemblance to his equally impressive sire Dominator Z, who already triumphed in the 5* Grand Prixs of Hamburg, Stockholm City and Doha under the saddle of Christian Ahlmann. In breeding, this son of Diamant de Semilly is building a strong reputation, with offspring like D’Aganix 2000 Z, Defender VDS Z and Querido VG Z. On the dam’s side, Pinacolada van Seldsum represents the solid Balia damline, and he is a grandson of the internationally 1.50m level performing mare Bybalia SMH (s.Cardento), who was ridden by Michel Hendrix and Jeffrey Fields. Consequently, dam I-Nabalia SMH is not only a half-sister to the international 1.50m level competing Frybalia SMH (s.Baltic VDL) of Michael Pender but also to the international 1.45m level showjumper Gin Gin Balia SMH (s.Chin Chin) of Liza Houwen-Tiebot and the KWPN approved stallion Impala SMH (s.Zambesi). In the second generation, the progenitor of Grand Prix horses Namelus R contributes his genes, having produced top horses like Tripple X III, H&M Christian K, Brego R’n B and Inflame Go.
The well-developed Pinacolada van Seldsum is a significant prospect for both sport and breeding and will cover his first mares in 2024.
